Research Grant To Brooklyn College

This year we had the honor of giving out a research grant to the Psychology Department at Brooklyn College. This grant is funding a survey of over 3,000 students in which we will be learning about student’s knowledge and need for mental health awareness and education. We have seen a lack of awareness and education at the University level and the goal of this survey is to gather enough information to set up a “Mental Health” awareness course that incoming freshman would take. The class would open up the conversation and ideally encourage students to be more comfortable with their own issues and dealing with the issues their classmates or friends might be facing. Dr. Laura Rabin and Dr. Rona Miles are the lead researchers from CUNY Brooklyn. The survey will be concluded in March, and we should have tangible results by the end of the spring semester.
